시간과 장소가, 시간과 건축이 서로 조응하는 미술관

새롭게 건립된 이정섭미술관은 장소의 분위기를 완전히 바꿔놓는(Tabula Rasa)이 아니라 마치 사이트 내에 미술관이 스며들어 시간의 레이어가 자연스럽게 축적된 듯(Palimpsest) 보여지기를 희망한다. 전시공간을 구성하는 단일 혹은 다수의 볼륨이 Site 위에 자리 잡는 대신, 기존의 섬세한 지형과 식재들은 보호하고, 안과 밖이 서로 조우하는 틀로써의 미술관을 제안한다. 이는 흡사 이중섭의 은박지 위 못으로 긁어 그려낸 음각의 드로잉과 같은 건축에서의 표현이다.

An art museum where time and place, time and architecture correspond
It is hoped that the newly built Lee Jungseop Museum of Art will not completely change the atmosphere of the place (Tabula Rasa), but rather as if the museum permeates the site and naturally accumulates layers of time (Palimpsest). Instead of placing a single or multiple volume constituting the exhibition space on the site, an art museum is proposed as a framework for protecting the existing delicate topography and plantings and encountering each other inside and outside. This is similar to the expression in architecture, such as Lee Jungseop's intaglio drawing drawn with nails on silver foil.
